Then again, you may want to equip yourself for a career in pretty much any sector that requires an IT expert. Whatever the case, you’ll find we’ve an industry-leading course for you.

Over the last 50 years, computers have changed our lives beyond recognition. Computer gaming on laptops, desktops, tablets and smartphones has become a global passion – creating a real demand for talented, imaginative people who can turn a game or app concept into reality.

Computer networks and communication are a vital part of everyday life, leading to a huge demand for individuals who can understand, maintain, create and secure sophisticated networks – crucial for organisations needing to protect themselves against cyber attack. The growing use of IT means that digital devices such as smartphones and tablets are becoming an increasingly important source of forensic evidence.

Cloud computing is changing the way we store and access data, bringing with it many challenges. The scientific backbone of social media depends on mobile and web-based technologies whilst well designed and developed web applications continue to provide strategic opportunities to transform the way businesses operate.

Our facilities include cutting edge resources and industry standard tools and development kits. Forensic Computing students use industry-standard tools such as Encase. Degrees such as Business Information Technology and Business Computing equip you to work in today’s business.

At the School of Computing, we have built up a global reputation for producing Computing graduates with the technical skills, creative ability and vision to succeed in all of those fields. Staffordshire University was the very first UK university to offer a computing degree, we have constantly updated and innovated to ensure we continue to lead the way in computing education.
